precision positioning service (GPS) (PPS)

The GPS system for satellite navigation supports several services that differ in the resolution ofposition accuracy. The Precision Positioning Service (PPS) is the GPS service that may only be used by authorized institutions, primarily the U.S. military. The PPS service is implemented by the Precision Encrypted Code (P/Y code) and has a location resolution below one meter.
