client to client protocol (CTCP)

The Client to Client Protocol (CTCP) is a communication protocol

between clients. The CTCP protocol can be used to exchange structured data of graphics, text, audio and various font information between clients and to query information from clients. The CTCP protocol extends the capabilities of Internet Relay Chat (IRC) with its own commands that can be used to query technical data and certain user information.
