cell in flight (ATM) (CIF)

Cell in Frame (CIF) is a service parameter for the available bit rate( ABR) in ATM. CIF is a negotiable cell count set from the ATM network. It limits the number of cells sent during the startup phase before the first resource management ( RM ) cell returns. The value range for CIF is between 0 and 16,777,215.
