base station system GPRS protocol (GPRS) (BSSGP)

In General Packet Radio Service( GPRS), the data sent by a mobile station is converted in the base station, so that the LLC layer is directly based on the Base Station System GPRS Protocol (BSSGP).

BSSGP processes the data packets with respect to routing information and quality of service( QoS) specifications. The Network Service sublayer then translates these BSSGP requests into the frame relay transport protocol that connects the base station( BS) to the Serving GPRS Support Node( SGSN).
