Automatic Generation Control(AGC) systems are power generation systems that respond momentarily and automatically to the generation of electrical energy. AGC systems continuously monitor the energy networks and react immediately to higher energy withdrawal, which is noticeable in a higher power output or by reducing the network frequency.

In such a case, AGC systems react in a few seconds and generate additional energy that is fed into the energy grid. As algorithms, corresponding systems work with SCADA, Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition. They collect and analyze the recorded data and use it to optimize their control mechanisms.
