articulation score (speech) (AS)

For the evaluation of speech transmission there are various evaluation criteria such as the Mean Opinion Score( MOS), and for speech intelligibility there is the Articulation Score( AS).

The Articulation Score evaluates the percentage ratio between the number of correctly understood words and those that are disturbed and unintelligible. The Articulation Score was determined experimentally as functions of different word contents, different bandwidths, taking into account the signal-to- noise ratio and the experience of the speakers and listeners.
