alluminium nitride (AlN)

Aluminum nitride (AlN) is a compound semiconductor characterized by a particularly large bandgap (WBG) of 6.05 eV. It is used in light-emitting diodes, which emit ultraviolet light at a wavelength of approx. 200 nm to 250 nm. Crystalline aluminum nitride is also used for surface acoustic wave (SAW) filters and for thin-film FBAR resonators.
