XML-based user interface language (XML, XPFE) (XUL)

XML-based User Interface Language (XUL) is a markup language for user interfaces. XUL provides a comprehensive set of GUI components. This includes over 100 elements for windows, input elements, blocks, scripts and more.

XUL is supplemented by various techniques such as the XML Binding Language(XBL), which can be used to modify functions of XUL elements, or the Cross Platform Component Object Model( XPCOM), which allows access to Gecko components.

The description language used at Mozilla, which is based on XML, is used to describe the graphical user interface. It accelerates the structure of structured surfaces. In XUL the surfaces of Firefox and Thunderbird are arranged.
