Voice quality depending on the compression method

The ITU recommendation G.726 is one of the standards for voice compression and evolved from the G.721 standard. It uses Adaptive Differential Pulse CodeModulation( ADPCM) and supports transmission rates of 16, 24, 32 and 40 kbps. The voice quality has a mean opinion score( MOS) of 4.2, which is lower than that of ISDN.
