fibre channel switched fabric (FC-SW)

Fibre Channel Switched Fabric(FC- SW) is a Fibre Channel standard that describes the way in which nodes are connected to one or more FC switches in the FC topology. Each N_Port of an FC-SW is connected to the F-Port of an FC switch.

The central component of the FC-SW technology is an FC switch. This central unit can simultaneously connect multiple servers and storage at high data rates via the backplane. FC-SW technology is extremely fail-safe.
