DIP switch
DIP switches have their name because of their design. They are small rows of switches designed as Dual Inline Package (DIP).
DIP switches are available in SMT technology and in through-hole technology( THT). They are mounted on motherboards and are used to set configurations and to change parameters.
A DIP switch always consists of several individual switches, these can be toggle or slide switches, which can be functionally switched on and off. Because of their smallness and switch arrangement, they are also known as mouse pianos.
