D5 format

The D5 digital video recording format works like the D3 format with 1/2" magnetic tapes. It records component video, has a maximum playing time of 2 hours and a storage capacity of 2.24 Tbit.

The D5 recording format conforms to the ITUBT.601standard with 4:2:2 color subsampling and has 10-bitquantization. The recording format can be compressed for HDTV with a compression ratio of 5:1.
