ASTRA return channel system (ARCS)

The ARCS system is a 2 Mbit/s wide return channel from the end subscriber to the corresponding Astra satellite. The return channel is in the Ka band, the receive channel in the Ku band.

Asymmetric two-way satellite communication can be realized via the ARCS system. This is of particular interest for regions where DSL procedures are not being built up nationwide.
