GSM 06.10 (voice compression)
GSM 06.10 is a procedure standardized by the European Telecommunications Standards Institute( ETSI) for voice compression in the D2 network and in satellite communications, which forms compressed bit groups from a series of bit words. The method compresses 160 samples of 13 bits into groups of 260 bits or 33 bytes, resulting in a data rate of 1,650 bytes/s (13.2 kbit/s) at 8 kHzsampling rate.
GSM 06.10 uses Regular Pulse Excitation( RPE) with Long Term Prediction( LTP) as coding scheme.
