D2 network

The D2 network is a GSM network operated by Vodafone. Like the D1 network, the Vodafone network is one of the phase I implementations of the GSM networks. Telephone numbers of the Vodafone network can be recognized by the network codes 0162, 0172, 0173, 0174.

The D2 network was the first privately operated mobile communications network in Germany to go into operation in the early 1990s.
