3590 tape drive
3590 is an IBM format for tape drives. With this format, the data is recorded in the longitudinal track method. 3590 was a widely used format in the mainframe sector, it worked with 16 tracks, had a storage capacity of 10 GB with a data transfer rate of 9 MB/s. Because of DLT-like technology, cartridges and drives are considered to be very reliable with long lifetime.
IBM's 3592 tape drives are primarily used in data centers.
