unmanaged switch
Unmanaged Ethernet switches are unmanaged switches that, unlike managed Ethernet switches, use automatically negotiated ports to transfer parameters such as the data rate or specify half- duplex or full-duplex as transfer modes. In addition, unmanaged switches have no concept of virtual LANs (VLANs).
Unmanaged switches work with amedium access control( MAC) address table. This table keeps track of dynamically learned MAC addresses and the corresponding switch port on which the MAC address was learned. The inclusion of a MAC address table means that unmanaged switches provide a separate collision domain per port. This is a key differentiator between an unmanaged Ethernet switch and an Ethernet hub.
