ultra high voltage (UHV)

The term ultra high voltage (UHV) refers to voltages above 800 kV. Such voltages can be transmitted both as AC vol tages and as DC voltages. DC transmission of 800 kV and more is referred to as ultra-high voltage DC transmission ( UHVDC). The power range is 6,000 MW to 8,000 MW. At 1,100 kV, the transmittable power is 10,000 MW.
