tripleX

TripleX is a common name for the three ITU-T recommendations X.28, X.29 and X.3, which regulate connections between character-oriented asynchronous stations and packet-oriented (X. 25

) synchronous stations. The X.28 interface allows asynchronous data terminal equipment to access the data packet-switched data transmission service. X.29 defines the exchange of control information between a packetizer/depacketizer (PAD) and an X.25-oriented data terminal equipment (DTE). And X.3 describes the PAD in public data packet switching networks.
