TERENA (Trans European Research and Education Networking Association) was founded in 1994 by a merger of Réseaux Associés pour la Recherche Européen( RARE) and the European Academic and Research Network( EARN). Terena will actively participate in the development of a powerful information and telecommunication infrastructure in the interest of science and education in Europe.
