The insertion of numerous, sometimes hundreds of ticker symbols, such as AMZN for Amazon or FB for Facebook in a press release is called ticker spam. Even if the news release has nothing to do with the companies of the ticker symbols, it leads to the fact that through online search engines the message is often published in many places on the Internet and thus receives increased attention.
