telephone jack
The TAE plug is used in the junction box of the TAE unit. The TAE plug complies with DIN 41715, but is generally referred to as TAE 6 because of the 6 contacts.
In order to be able to use the plug connection for different applications, the TAE plug system has different mechanical coding options: F-coding and N-coding. Connector systems with F-coding are exclusively intended for long-distance telephony, while those with N-coding are intended for non-long-distance telephony, such as modems, fax machines or answering machines.
The standard TAE socket has two or three slots fortelephone or other extensions. For ISDN systems, the eight- pin TAE plug is used.
