soft permanent virtual circuit (SPVC)

A Soft Permanent Virtual Circuit (SPVC) is a virtual ATM connection that is permanently present between the endpoints. The SPVC connection can be re-switched within the connection if necessary. An ATM network can consist of both SPVCs and Soft Permanent Virtual Paths (SPVP).
