single point ground (SPG)

In single-point grounding, several ground connections are connected separately to one point of a system.

Single-point grounding is also referred to as star grounding because the grounding conductor is connected to the individual devices or systems in a star configuration via the ground lines. The advantage of single-point grounding is that signal return via ground is avoided.
