service node (IN) (SN)

A service node (SN) is a service-supporting node in intelligent networks( IN).

Services such as fax, text to speech ( TTS) and speech recognition are mappedin the service node in the time-triggered network. Depending on the network constellation, the service node is connected to the access network via the service node interface( SNI). The services mapped in the service node also relate to web services.
