round robin (RR)

Round Robin(RR) is a scheduling strategy with which operating systems allocate resources to the processes.

With Round Robin a time sharing takes place with which each process can call the processor performance for a certain time. After the time interval, the process can be placed at the end of the queue. The RR method is typical for conversational operation.

Other methods for allocating processor power include First Come First Served( FCFS), Shortest Job First( SJF), Fixed External Priorities( FEP), and Earliest Deadline First( EDF).
