road transport information (RTI)

Road Transport Information (RTI) is road use and road traffic information.

Road use information relates to passenger and freight traffic and includes information on road conditions, road use in terms of gross vehicle weight and dimensions, restricted road use on Sundays and public holidays, road use charges, charges for tunnels, bridges and private toll roads the respective maximum permitted speeds.

In winter, the road use information prescribes winter tires and, for weather-dependent routes, appropriate winter equipment with snow chains or other aids. For the transport of perishable goods, as well as for hazardous goods transports, other, sometimes more restrictive rules apply.

Road usage information includes driving and break times, it contains information about appropriate parking and rest facilities, and it points out customs and border posts.
