programmable system on chip (PSoC)

The programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) differs from the System-on-Chip(SoC) in its higher functionality and programmability.

A PSoC device combines analog with digital functionality and is used in all areas of automotive technology, from driver info, body and chassis electronics, engine and transmission control to the area of driving safety and anti-theft systems. PSoC devices consist of analog and digital circuits, they can include microcontrollers, filters, comparators, A/D converters, memories, interfaces, controllers and amplifiers and are configurable and reconfigurable.

PSoC components can be configured individually by a developer or by pin assignment. In addition, the PSoCs, which consist of small arrays, are pre-assembled and can be switched during operation.
