preassigned multiple access (satellite comm.) (PAMA)

Preassigned Multiple Access (PAMA) is a multiple access procedure in which the radio frequencies are specified in advance. These procedures are also known as reservation procedures and are used both in terrestrial radio transmission and in satellite communication.

In contrast to the PAMA procedure, Demand Assigned Multiple Access( DAMA), which is also used in satellite transmission, operates as a competitive procedure on demand.
