Polyphony means as much as multiple or many sounds. A polyphonic sound is characterized by the simultaneous sounding of several tones or voices. Polyphonic sounds can be generated with synthesizers and sound cards and play a role in sound synthesis, as well as for the evaluation of the conductivity of sound cards.
