open ebook forum (OeBF)

For e-books, there have been and still are various proprietary and generic document formats such as HTML and the PDF file format.

These file formats can be used for e-books by porting them. The Open E-Book Forum (OeBF) aims to develop and standardize a single platform for all e-book applications: the Open Ebook Format( OEB). The founders of this initiative include Microsoft, Palm and Adobe but also companies from the publishing industry.
