normal disconnect mode (NDM)

Normal Disconnect Mode (NDM) is a function of the HDLC protocol for a slave station. The NDM mode is a waiting mode in which the station may neither transmit nor send data. The slave station may only transmit data blocks after being requested to do so by the master station. The slave station cannot leave this state by itself; it is rather dependent on the actions of the master station.
