network outsourcing

The use of external communications networks is a variant of outsourcing. As a result of the liberalization of the telecommunications market in Europe, private carriers entered the market, not only as competitors to Telekom, but also with the aim of offering alternatives to the operators of company-owned networks.

In addition to this network outsourcing, also referred to as netsourcing, their offerings include in particular value added network services( VANS) and value-added services.

Similar to data processing, the outsourcing of communications services is very much driven by economic considerations. Added to this are flexibility advantages in the event of changes in demand. The strong upswing in cross-border communications in particular has led to a large number of foreign carriers with their own international network entering the market under their own name or in cooperation with German service providers.
