metro fibre channel protocol (mFCP)

The Metro Fibre Channel Protocol (mFCP) is a gateway protocol comparable to iFCP with the difference that mFCP is based on the connectionless User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and not on TCP/IP. Since the UDP protocol works connectionless without an acknowledgement mechanism, mFCP achieves a better performance, but also a lower reliability.
