mailer

A mailer is a software program for the automated exchange of information. It is used in the FidoNet, a mailbox network. The mailer waits for a call from a remote station, usually via modem or ISDN. After authentication, the mailer session is opened and messages and data can be exchanged. Examples of mailer programs are: FrontDoor, McMail or MainDoor.
