Lightcrimp is a pluggable fiber optic connection technology from AMP that was specially developed for fiber optic connections in the field.

The Lightcrimp technology uses ST connectors and SC connectors, which are processed in a special crimping technique with special tools. The preparation of the termination corresponds to normal connector termination, where the optical fibers have direct contact.

The values for insertion loss and for return loss correspond to those of ST connectors and SC connectors.
