global data synchronization network (GDS) (GDSN)

A Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) is a network in which the GDS data, Global Data Synchronization, is managed. Conceptually, such a network consists of the provider and the supplier. Both have a data pool, the source data pool and the recipient data pool, which are connected via the GS1 Global Registry.

The GS1 Global Registry ensures data reconciliation so that both data pools have identical product entries. The product information entered by the supplier with its technical data and properties is entered by the supplier into the source data pool and from there forwarded to the GS1 Global Registry for registration.

The data is transmitted to the supplier data pool for publication, from which a confirmation is sent to the source data pool. A subscription request is sent from the supplier to the registry via the recipient data pool, which confirms it to the source data pool.

The supplier can access its data pool and has the same entries as the source data pool.
