The Geosar satellites receive the GPS signal of the emergency transmitter as an emergencysignal and transmit the coordinates of the emergency victim to the ground station (LUT, Local UserTerminal), from where it is forwarded to the emergency services. The response time is much shorter than that of the Leosar satellites and is only a few minutes.
