dynamic channel allocation (mobile communications) (DCA)

Dynamic Channel Allocation(DCA) is a dynamic procedure for frequency allocation of mobile communications systems and cordless telephones.

Each time a connection is established between the base station and the mobile station, the DCA procedure occupies the next free channel. In other systems, the frequencies between the mobile station and the base station are fixed by the manufacturer.

In the DCA method, the base station continuously monitors interference in the unused radio channels and uses an algorithm to determine the radio channel with the least interference.
