defense communications agency (DCA)

The Defense Communications Agency (DCA) is a subdivision of the US Department of Defense ( DoD). It is responsible for the organization of Defense Data Network ( DDN) such as the MILNET and was charged with the administration of the ARPANET in 1975. It was later renamed the Defense Information Systems Agency ( DISA).
