diffused coupler

A diffused coupler is an optical coupler used to combine or split different wavelengths transmitted in an optical fiber. Unlike biconical taper couplers and bend couplers, diffused couplers have low attenuation. Diffused couplers are manufactured by diffusing troughs into a glass substrate, in which the modes are then guided.
