charging data record (CDR)

In mobile communications technology, the data records for connection charges are referred to as Charging Data Records( CDR) or Call Detail Records (CDR). The latter designation is often used for fixed networks and IP networks.

According to 3GPP parlance, Charging Data Records are a collection of formatted billable call information or information about chargeable mobile or telecommunications services.

Charging Data Records (CDR) are used to generate subscriber bills and may also be provided to subscribers as proof of connection. Chargeable connection data includes connection setuptime, connection duration, amount of data transferred, etc.

In electric vehicle( EV) charging infrastructure, there is a similar term for charging billing: Charge detail Record (CDR).
