data protection management (DPM)
Data Protection Management (DPM) is an administration task used to create and manage backups. The data stored in the backup server is secure and can be retrieved at any time with a restore procedure.
DPM management ensures data integrity so that protected data cannot be accessed during transfer or processing. DPM systems support administration by indicating defective system components.
With Microsoft's Data Protection Manager (DPM), the system components of the virtual machine( VM) are secured. The Data Protection Manager supports Continuous Data Protection( CDP) as a functional unit of the System Center and is mainly used to secure the data of file servers, Exchange servers and SQL servers.
