cross check
Cross-checking is an error detection method in which both longitudinal parity( LRC) and transverse parity( VRC) are applied.
Cross-checking results from the parity determination of both parity checks, since for error-free transmission the parity values of the longitudinal check and the cross-check must be identical.
Depending on the position of the errors in the data field, cross-checking can also be used to detect four or even more errors during the transmission of 8 bytes ofuser data.
