code 93
Code 93 is an alphanumeric bar code with variable length. It was developed from Code 39 and has a slightly higher information density. A total of 10 digits, the capital letters A to Z and 5 special characters can be represented with Code 93.
In the extended version, Code 93 Extended supports the complete ASCII character set and 10 special characters and control characters. It is a multi width code with four different element widths. A character is formed from nine modules. Three elements of a module are bars.
Code 93 uses checksum methods and is delimited by special start-stop characters. When Code 93 is generated, the parity bits and the start-stop characters are added automatically. The calculation of the checksum works according to modulo 47.
