chemical markup language (XML) (CML)
Chemical Markup Language (CML) is an XML-baseddescription language for the chemical industry. Chemical Markup Language, whose development time is estimated at a decade, can be used to describe, among other things, structural formulas and spectral data, as well as information about chemical substances.
One of the advantages of CML is that chemical documents traditionally stored in a wide variety of file types became portable, allowing interoperable documents to be created. This made it possible to exchange documents between chemists.
CML supports a wide variety of chemical analysis, calculation, and display techniques, such as molecular, spectral, formular, and crystallographic.
