In the USA, bozos are stupid or eccentric people. Accordingly, bozo filters are designed to filter out emails or news posts from undesirable people.

A bozo filter is a software ofe-mail clients, newsgroup readers and bulletin boards with which unwanted e-mails or newsgroup posts from certain users can be filtered out and blocked. Such a filter can also check the senders of spam and delete them automatically.

Bozofilters are primarily used for incoming emails, but they can also be used for filteringmessages and other posts.
