block multiplexer channel (BMUX)

A block multiplex channel(BMUX) is a connection that combines the advantages of a multiplex channel and a selector channel. This is achieved by exchanging input commands and output commands between the centralprocessingunit and peripheral devices of a data processing system. The block multiplex channel is a parallel-structured IBM input/output channel that allows the fast transmission of entire data blocks.
