Deutsche Telekom's Birdie mobile communications service is a telepoint service that was field-tested in Münster and Munich in 1992.

With Birdie, subscribers can use handy mobile terminals to make calls to base stations over a relatively short range of only 200 meters. Access to the telephone network is via this base station. Public base stations are located at busy sites such as shopping malls, train stations, pedestrian zones and airports.

Despite relatively positive experiences from the field trials, Birdie has not been adopted in regular service.
