advanced distributed learning (eLearning) (ADL)

Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) is a standardization initiative of the U.S. Department of Defense(DoD).

This initiative, which was launched in 1997, is intended to promote cooperation between government, industry and educational institutions in the field of e-learning. The goal is to make existing and future learning management systems interoperable in terms of both platform and content. This organization has developed standardization models for e-learning.
